People
Our 4×4 rentals and guided Uganda safari holidays help improve the lives of local communities as we employ local people in all our operations. If you choose a guide holiday with your 4×4 rental, your local driver guide will tell you plenty about the local history, local traditions, local culture and great stories about the Ugandan people. The local driver may not even follow the well known tarred roads but instead use the back roads so you get a chance to witness first-hand how the locals live and go about their daily lives.
This sample Uganda safari holiday itinerary and suggested accommodation options aim to improve incomes for the local communities by using local drivers, local mechanics, locally owned accommodation options, restaurants for lunch by use of locally sourced food and supply chain items wherever and whenever possible.
After chimpanzee tracking in Kibale, the trip suggests the locally guided Bigodi Swamp Walk which is organised by a local community based organisation.. The main purpose of the Bigodi Swamp walk is to raise awareness of protecting the local environment while advancing health, education and economic growth in the community around Kibale Forest and a very high percentage of the money paid for the walk is channelled back into supporting the local Bigodi community to support a women’s local group by providing opportunity for them to sell their locally made products at the wetlands visitor centre.
